Take meaningful steps towards reconciliation with Indigenous communities.

We believe that reconciliation is a journey that requires dedication, honesty, and collaboration.

Reconciliation is about establishing and maintaining a mutually respectful relationship between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples in this country. In order for that to happen, there has to be awareness of the past, an acknowledgement of the harm that has been inflicted, atonement for the causes, and action to change behaviour. Honouring the Truth, Reconciling for the Future Summary of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, 2015, p. 6

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a strategic document that outlines an organization's commitment to advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. More than just a statement of intent, a well-crafted RAP provides a structured approach to embedding reconciliation principles into your organizational culture, policies, and practices. RAPs have become more prevalent in the last 5-10 years.  RAPs are not one size fits all and need to be tailored to your organization.  Also, the truth must come before reconciliation, so this will require self-reflection of the organization.

  • Demonstrate your commitment to reconciliation
  • Enhance cultural awareness and competence
  • Strengthen partnerships with Indigenous communities
  • Improve your corporate social responsibility profile
  • Lay the groundwork for future initiatives which could include the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR)

Charting Your Path to Meaningful Reconciliation.

In today's evolving landscape, organizations across Canada are recognizing the critical importance of fostering genuine, respectful relationships with Indigenous Communities.
As a foundational framework, a well-crafted RAP fosters genuine dialogue, policy reform, and sustainable practices.

A Reconciliation Action Plan serves as a crucial step towards this goal, laying out a roadmap for engagement, reflection, and meaningful change within your organization. A RAP will be both internal and external facing, and how they are created will be different for each organization.

We're committed to guiding you through every step of this important journey.
