Indigenous and Community Engagement (ICE) Inc. is a 100% Indigenous-owned consulting firm that started in 2015. We are dedicated to the sustainable socio-economic development of Indigenous peoples. We are guided by Indigenous values and principles of reconciliation with one goal in mind—to improve the quality of life for Indigenous Nations through socio-economic, community, and project development. We work with government, corporate, and Indigenous clients to support informed decision-making, shared outcomes, and mutual benefits.

How We Help

Collaboration is a fundamental aspect of our approach at Indigenous and Community Engagement. By working closely with our clients and incorporating Indigenous values and the principles of reconciliation, we develop tailored solutions that promote sustainable socio-economic development for Indigenous Peoples.

Our team is a combination of Indigenous and ally professionals with experience in designing, developing, and delivering a range of services for Indigenous Nations, communities and organizations, as well as Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments and private sector including Industry and utilities. We offer a range of services to support clients that creates collaborative working relationships and mutually beneficial outcomes. We have experience in working in broadband, energy, mining, transportation, and more.

What We Do

Indigenous Engagement, Communication and Consultation

We co-develop and deliver consultation and engagement plans to support Indigenous community voices by aligning project mandates with community goals, aspirations and needs.

STRATEGIC PLANNING, BUSINESS PLANS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES

Supporting preparation of business plans and economic development strategies including support for developing partnerships, capacity assessment, training and Corporate Governance. Helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments by identifying challenges, forging productive relationships and supporting informed decision-making.

Facilitation

Supporting effective group problem-solving and decision-making by creating space for participants to share experiences and insights.

INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE, LAND USE AND OCCUPANCY

Supporting Indigenous communities by working collaboratively to provide valuable information for holistic environmental understanding.

Community-Based Social Research

Helping clients make informed decisions by producing insightful analyses of key findings based on Indigenous values and principles of ownership, control, access, and possession and considering GBA+ principles. We undertake primary and secondary research, with a expertise in socio-economic research and analyses.

Funding and Project Support

Helping Indigenous communities obtain funding for a variety of initiatives while ensuring project success by being on time and on budget.

Supporting clients in making informed decisions about quality of life by organizing and analyzing data to produce meaningful metrics, trends, and visuals.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT SERVICES

RECONCILIATION ACTION PLANS (RAP) & CCAB PROGRESSIVE ABORIGINAL RELATIONS (PAR) SUPPORT

Supporting Industry and government in preparing, auditing and updating RAPs, as well as supporting preparing to apply for PAR.

INDIGENOUS PARTICIPATION PLANS (IPP)

We design, develop, and deliver Indigenous Participation Plans (IPPs) to assist clients in fostering meaningful and sustainable engagement with Indigenous communities. Recognizing the importance of building strong, mutually beneficial relationships, we specialize in developing comprehensive and tailored Indigenous participation plans that align with corporate goals, government requirements, and community expectations.

LAND USE PLANNING

Supporting Indigenous Nations and communities in co-creating land use plans for reserve lands or their territories.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC RESEARCH

We work with diverse communities and stakeholder interests to achieve project goals including through designing research methodologies and work plans and supporting the baseline data collection and impact assessments.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND IMPACT ASSESSMENTS

Supporting preparation of Environmental and Impact Assessments including engagement, socio-economic analysis, mitigation measures, Indigenous Knowledge and impacts to Aboriginal and Treaty Rights.

DIGITAL MARKETING & EVENT PRODUCTION SERVICES
